<\/figure>\n\n\n\nLove Crazy, One Beautiful Piece at a Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Where’s all this going? It’s a fair question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once upon a time, in a vastly different life, I was an avid writer. More than a couple of novels worth in the space of a couple of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Truth is, I did become slightly obsessed, luckily, not in a ‘Jack’ Torrance<\/a> kind of way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Had I not been acutely aware of my own shortcomings, I could have easily gone down that road (still could).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ain’t that the truth. Let’s just say that after a couple of close calls with the ‘dark side’, the writing on the wall was plain to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ‘Lucky you are’ as my little green friend might say. Still, there are worse things and we each have our cross to bear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Having an ‘addictive personality isn’t all bad, as long as you can take a step back and see it for what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here’s one for you, though you might not think it crazy, maybe eccentric? I have no shame and it makes no odds, it is what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I hit the big ’50’ a few years ago. A monumental milestone and something to be celebrated, for some, me included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let’s be honest, it wasn’t always a ‘sure thing’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, I’m going for a double celebration, allow me to explain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the twelve months or so leading up to my half-century, I decided to let my hair grow. Thinking about it, eighteen months is more realistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Needless to say, I was Dan Haggerty from ‘The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There was method behind the madness. I wanted to do the whole ‘before and after’ photo shoot. If I can get the page to insert a small picture, you should see me below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Look at that, it worked. You might have to wait for the ‘after’ one though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It has to be said, there is something innately liberating when one ‘lets oneself go’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Almost feral, looking at that picture, what a catch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now, when it comes to the concept of ‘time’, I wouldn’t pretend to be able to compete with some of the great ‘thinkers’ who have postulated on the subject matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Furthermore, I cast aside the philosophical musings of all but one and make way for the only true definition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a nonlinear, non-subjective viewpoint, it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey… stuff.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n Time, yeah, I’m not going to get into it right now, things to do, people to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, it would be unfair of me to bring you this far and then leave you ‘hangin’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Being a relative (eyes of the beholder, you understand) young-looking fifty-year-old, I decided to play around with time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From that point forward I decided to start reversing birthdays. Basically, that meant that on each and every subsequent birthday I would go back a year, starting at fifty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a fitting post, as this year I will be forty-five. Why is it fitting? Well, because now I start going back in the other direction, so next year I will be forty-six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Look, all you have to understand is that I will have gained an extra ten years, boom, have it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As Esther would say, “Now is a good time for some refreshment”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Until next time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Check out the ‘HOME’<\/a> page, it might help, though I make no promises.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Love Crazy?
